Dosage & Administration
Important: Do not take any medication without a doctor's prescription. Self-medication can be dangerous.
Mild gastric disorders, gastritis: 1-2 tablets / 1-2 teaspoonful, 1-2 hours after meal or at bed time or when required.
Duodenal ulcers, gastric ulcers, reflux oesophagitis: 2-4 tablets / 2-4 teaspoonful, 1-2 hours after meal or at bed time or when required.
Children: Half of the adult dose.
Contraindications
Magaldrate is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to magnesium and aluminium. It is also contraindicated in patients with impaired renal function
Side Effects
Constipation and diarrhea may occur.
Pregnancy & Lactation
Magaldrate may be used in pregnancy if indicated however one should avoid excessive dosage. Magaldrate may pass into breast milk but has not been reported to cause problem in nursing babies.
